The Power of the Oder: How to Harness Its Potential?
A debate following the screening of the film River, dir. Jennifer Peedom
The film River – a reflection on the relationship between humans and rivers – will offer the opportunity to examine this connection at a local level. We will try to understand what role the Oder River played in the past and what is the current situation following numerous floods and investments. What are the advantages and disadvantages of river regulation? Are we making the most of Oder's potential for transport and tourism? Is water transport in Wrocław possible without sacrificing the river wildlife? We will discuss these issues with the public and the city officials.
