Lous, the mother of filmmaker Oeke Hoogendijk, has a recurring nightmare that she has lost her way home, just like the day she was deported for being Jewish. What at first seems quotidian - an elderly lady watching TV with her cat, gradually changes into a very impressive portrait of an astute woman who hasn’t left her home in decades and deals with housemate Holocaust every day. Even the Christmas tree, which filled her with such joy as a child, now reminds her of the Westerbork transit camp, where Nazis killed her father and brother.
