Bill Frisell Trio Presents

A journalist once compared him to Clark Kent: tall, soft-spoken, looking intently at his interlocutor through his round-rimmed glasses. Modest. Self-effacing in conversation. He looks back at his music career with detachment, considering it rather a series of fortunate coincidences – encounters with the great masters. His only merit is to have managed not to spoil it completely. Meanwhile, when he starts playing, the sounds and images emerge: they form the kind of music that only Bill Frisell can make.

At the 19th Millennium Docs Against Gravity, Bill Frisell Trio will provide a unique musical accompaniment for two films by Bill Morrison - "The Great Flood" and “The Mesmerists”, a director known for his masterful work with archival footage. His first such extensive retrospective will take place during the festival.
