Debate: Mission TRANS
after the screening of JASON, dir. Maasja Ooms
They are of different ages, have different interests and educational backgrounds, work in different professions and study. Still, they all have one thing in common: being transgender. They feel lost and are constantly experiencing fear and loneliness. They suffer from depression and often attempt suicide. They are hurt by the lack of tolerance and understanding in society. Yet they ask for so little: to live a normal life – wrote Piotr Jacoń in his book “My, trans”. Together with Maja Heban, they will talk about the experiences that transgender people in Poland have to face every day.
Guests:
Piotr Jacoń – journalist at TVN 24. Author of a TV documentary about parents of transgender people “Wszystko o moim dziecku”, a series of interviews “Bez polityki”, and the book “My, trans”.
Maja Heban – transgender activist and columnist, she has written for Noizz and Replika and is active in social media, where she answers questions and dispels misinformation about transgender people.
