European Literature Night. A Prologue. Live reading preceding the screening of the film THE TERRITORY, dir. Alex Pritz
Partner: The Wroclaw Institute of Culture
For the fifth time, the prologue to the European Literature Night will take place as part of the Wrocław edition of Millennium Docs Against Gravity. During this event, fragments of outstanding European prose will be read live by the most interesting Polish actors and actresses over one evening in ten extraordinary city spaces. This year's edition will take place on August 20. It will be preceded by live reading before the screening of the film The Territory, which follows the fight for survival of the Uru-eu-wau-wau people living in the Brazilian Amazon. A literary commentary on the film will be a short story by Joanna Rudniańska, "Trawy" ("Grasses", from the volume RuRu, Wydawnictwo Nisza), selected by the curator of this year's ELN, Michał Rusinek. The author takes us to the banks of the Volga, where in the mid-1950s the totalitarian Soviet government wanted to control everything, including the course of the river.
