A documentary film director born in Copenhagen. His first feature-length film ‘The distant barking of dogs’ (2017) received the Best Debut Award at IDFA and won around 40 awards worldwide; it was also nominated for a European Film Award (2018), an Emmy (2020) and made it to the Oscar shortlist (2019). The film also won a Peabody Award (2020). The Polish premiere of Wilmont's debut took place at MDAG, and now we will host it again – ‘A House Made of Splinters’ has already won the Best Director Award in the international documentary competition at this year's Sundance; here it is in the Main Competition.
