Oscar® nominee Liz Garbus, known for her biographical documentaries about Nina Simone and Marilyn Monroe, in Becoming Cousteau examines the epic life of Jacques Yves Cousteau, the ocean explorer who spanned the globe with a misfit crew of divers and filmmakers. The film features fragments of Cousteau's extraordinary underwater films, as well as previously unknown archival footage. Extracts from his diaries are read by Vincent Cassel, whereas Louis Malle talks about his directorial talent, which earned him a Palme d'Or and an Oscar®.
