Let's turn Grunwaldzki Square into a blooming Hyde Park! We will use fabric scraps to create flowers symbolising different ideas, nations and feelings. The event will be led by the Gdynia-based Szwalnia Projektowa run by Anna Wilczyńska and Magdalena Tuchołka, who stopped designing and sewing clothes ten years ago, considering it no longer justified. By then, we were already drowning in a sea of fast fashion clothes and fashion as such had ceased to exist, becoming instead a process of overproduction. During these ten years, not much has changed, but enough has happened to give us faith in the possibility of change. Today, Szwalnia Projektowa adheres to the idea that there is no waste – there are only unused resources. They use surplus fabrics. When working on a project with supplied fabrics, they keep the leftovers until they find a use for them – reaching for recycled products, they transform old clothes into new objects.

During the Festival, fabric offcuts will be used to make flowers which will "bloom" on the Grunwaldzki Square as a form of free expression. Participants will gain a sense of community, interaction and fun by creating something with their own hands.
